Worldwide sensation... starting with... switzerland

Location: switzerland
Mood: egomaniacal

This morning, I took a look at the google analytics site to see who has been viewing my page. And I always peek at the map, since I got that one surprise a few weeks ago when there was suddenly a hit from Norway on the map. I have since figured that one out. It is my fisherman friend Olaf Per Olafssen, who just recently got satellite internet on his boat. I have been telling him about my blog for months, and he was very excited. Sad news to report, however, and it explains why he only viewed the page 3 times. His vessel overturned in the North Sea, and he was dismembered by a Baluga whale. He is apparently in intensive care in a village outside of Oslo and they will soon be fitting him with one of those cool devices that lets you communicate with a computer using nothing but sniffing sounds.

So, this morning, as I was saying, I look at the map, and this is what I saw:

Do you see that?

No, not the Argentina, we know who that is. And I am ignoring Venezuela too, even though that's new, because, frankly South America is kind of "old news" now. I have been kicking South American ass with this blog for weeks now. No, what I am talking about is Switzerland.

Who lives in Switzerland?

Why are they reading my blog?

Can they even read my blog?

I use lots of big words, and often I speak in slang. For instance, if I were to write something like "Why be the cheesy dudes fiddling with my fresh bloggin shiz?", how could they possibly be expected to comprehend that? Even a good dictionary would not help.

I can't figure out why they're reading it. And to be honest, I am not sure I appreciate it. The Swiss are famous for two things: watches, cowardice, and cheese. Okay, so that's three things. Although that makes me think... the other day, I was looking at the three Swiss watches that I keep stored in their original boxes in my closet. AND... I ate grilled cheese sandwiches made with Swiss cheese twice this week. AND... I have been a coward at least a few times this week!

  1. hey, don't discount your popularity in argentina...i've been setting your blog to the home page on every computer i use in the internet cafes...

we've met several swiss on our trip. they all spoke english. i'd guess there is a sizeable english-speaking population in switzerland.
